Bass trombonist Max Seigel is a member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Roy Hargrove Big Band, Weather Vest, Fat Cat Big Band, Delphian Jazz Orchestra, and Andy Farber Jazz Orchestra. He also performs frequently with Michael Bublé, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and the Mingus Big Band. Commercially, Max has performed in the pit orchestras of several Broadway productions, including Cats, Aladdin, Ragtime, and West Side Story.
An active composer and arranger, Max has released two recordings under his own name, Siphonophore and Bluebird, and leads the Max Seigel Nonet. His work has been commissioned and performed by numerous artists, including Lady Gaga, Slide Hampton, and Roy Hargrove. Max is also passionate about new music and regularly collaborates with composers Frank Carlberg, Leo Genovese, and Jade Synstelien.
